So that’s fun.Īs a final note, there is a string of War Table missions in Inquisition that sees the Inquisition’s forces attempting to uncover information about a mysterious and cryptic group of people, known as the Executors, who are spying on the Inquisition and claim to speak for “those across the sea.” At the end of the mission, you receive this letter: The settlement was mysteriously abandoned, and the only survivor who was found was crazed by terror and unintelligible. All colonization missions have never been heard from again, save for one. Its inhabitants, Parladians, are described by Brother Genitivi as “bedecked in gold and jewels, as cultured as any Tevinter even though they spoke an unknown language.” They are extremely insular and rapidly expel any attempted visitors.

To the north, the Boeric ocean is full of islands, the lower of which are either havens for pirates or colonized by Tevinter and the Qunari. This is an unforgiving ice-covered expanse inhabited only by the Agadi, or Chasind exiles. Beyond the Wilds inhabited by the Chasind in the south, there are what the Chasind call the Sunless Lands. So it’s most likely a very safe and pleasant place. There have been few successful explorations into the Donarks, but Tevinter sailors have made reports of the following: scatterings of Qunari settlements, flying chimera and wingless dragons. We know that the explored part of Thedas is bounded in the north by dense jungles known as the Donarks, and by the Arbor and Korcari Wilds in the south. This map gives you a good idea of Thedas’s established borders: Lore provides us with just enough tantalizing, mysterious hints to make me kind of desperate to know more. I’m fascinated by what lays beyond the borders of known Thedas. Most of my information comes from The World of Thedas and the Dragon Age Wiki, and I’ve made sure to link to all the fan sources I encountered. Well, I’m rectifying that by telling you about some of my favorite Dragon Age mysteries, theories and weird lore tidbits.
